| Good Trouble Lives On and, Yes, It's Necessary Trouble
Thursday, July 17
8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
It's for real, folks. We're currently navigating a veritable constitutional crisis. Our only way out is through a sustained, overwhelming demonstration of people power. Persistent action is mandatory. Get out there and fight!
There will be many "Good Trouble Lives On" events in the area and virtually on July 17, commemorating the anniversary of the death of civil rights giant and Congressman John Lewis. Communities across Colorado will be joining more than 1,400 communities nationwide, mobilizing in John Lewis's honor to challenge injustice, defend our human and civil rights, and demand the Administration and Congress to ensure due process, free speech, and free and fair elections for all.
Please attend an event on July 17 to help turn out the millions of us needed to, as John Lewis put it, "get into good trouble, necessary trouble, to redeem the soul of America."
There are many options, both in personal and virtual. We've list a few below. Asterisked events are co-hosted by the League of Women Voters of Larimer County and IndivisibleNOCO. Quadruple your good karma points by not only attending, but also volunteering to be a safety marshal or do a shift at our table in Loveland (voter registration and general League information). We're going to have fun trying out Pat Burger's idea to use a prize wheel to engage the public and raise awareness about John Lewis, voting rights, civics, and factors constituting a constitutional crisis. Intrigued? Join us! Contact Janet Schultz to volunteer.
| | July 4 Parade a Huge Success!
We had a wonderful time marching in the Fort Collins July 4 parade. We hope you can join us next year in Fort Collins or Loveland. You can find photos here. | Renewing Your Membership? Be Sure to Use the Correct Email Address!
Many members with a September 1 renewal date have begun receiving renewal notices from the LWVUS Member Portal. When you renew, please be sure to use the email address in your profile on the League's website. This email address is also your logon ID for the LWVUS Member Portal. If you use a different email address, the system will treat you as a new member.
Need more information on how to renew? You can find the Portal Member User Guide here. |
Be Aware!
If you receive an email, supposedly from Pat Burger, asking you to do her a favor, please do not respond. Block the sender. Pat will never email you asking you for a favor because she is too busy. Call her if you have any questions. | Make a Difference! Volunteer Now!
As an all-volunteer organization, the League relies on members to volunteer for the many initiatives and support functions that make our League effective. Take a look at those areas looking for volunteers on our Volunteer page. | |
