Voter Registration, Caucus Information, Candidate Forums
If you are not registered to vote, for any reason, please make the effort now! Be sure your vote will reflect your values and those of your family and friends, and our community.
We’ve been invited to register voters at the Free Ice Cream Cone Day at Ben and Jerry’s on April 10. We need to fill slots from noon to 8:00 pm – our job is to go up and down lines of thousands to encourage voter registration and give information about voting in the primaries. Please join us for a portion of the day at this FUN event.
Everyone in the LWVLC can work with events for the Voter Service Team. Thank you to Linda Mahan who assisted Kathleen Schmidt in writing a letter about redistricting to leaders at LWVCO, and to Pat Griego who helped Linda Thomas write the grant to encourage youth to register to vote. Our League does better things when we work together. Join us any time for the amount of time you can commit.
Currently we are looking for volunteers to register voters in the high schools, at the food banks, and at special events like the ice cream cone day. Times will be for daytimes as well as evening slots. Linda Thomas, our Voter Registration leader, is approved by the Secretary of State’s office to organize our events. Linda is currently organizing meetings to help those new to voter registration be ready to volunteers. What a great way to know other League members and be active in YOUR LWV.
Candidate Forums need Volunteers!
Sheri Stevens is looking for volunteers for candidate forums so please contact her.
Wine and Cheese and Letters
We will be organizing a wine and cheese party to help members write personal Letters to the Editor regarding the political process. Reminder, we do not use the League’s name when writing such letters as we are not speaking for the League; these will be personal letters.
Contact Sally Broste at firstname.lastname@example.org for more info on any of these opportunities!
