Town of Timnath Puts Sales Tax to a Vote

In August, the Timnath Town Council unanimously approved an ordinance asking for Timnath voters to consider an increase in the sales tax charged by the town.  If passed, sales taxes would increase 1.35% beginning in January of 2017.  Revenues from the proposed increase are expected to be just over $4 million.  According to the ordinance, these funds would be used to fund capital projects and operations of streets, recreation, storm water management, and municipal facilities.

Town Clerk Melissa Peters, CMC, informed the League of Women Voters of Larimer County that the Town is coordinating with the Larimer County Election Division on this election. The County will be sending out the ballots on behalf of the Town to Timnath residents.

Please note, information about this local ballot issue will not be available on Vote411.org.  We encourage interested residents to read more about the ordinance online or contact Town Clerk Melissa Peters for additional information at mpeters@timnathgov.com.
